FordFair 7th August
« on: July 18, 2011, 13:13:22 PM »
Hi, does anyone know of a cheap B&B in the area of Towcester?

I am thinking of coming over to FordFair, but since i do not want to stay @ a camping, i need something reasonable priced to stay for a few days.

@the past me and my brother bunked over @ Tony`s house, but that`s not possible anymore.
p.s. if it`s not too expensive, m√†ybe i can talk my brother into coming too with his Mk2 Escort Supercharger

May see you all there, do you need some one to ring around and make a booking for you? If you get stuck you can stay at mine only an airbed or a couch though, it is an hour drive from here.

If I remember correctly Olaf you didn't go last year, they changed it a bit.

If the same this year it will be a new experience for you ;D

Well I should't be to confident yet Ade, the car ticks over nicely & there is no signs of damage from the lack of oil to the engine. I hope to run it on the dyno before Silverstone.
Once the engine is under stress any damage will show up.

Been doing the finishing touches so cars on axle stands again at the moment!

Was hoping to go up my local drag track Sunday for more testing but it will be too much of a risk I think. Bugger!

Well, i`m looking forward to it.
I haven`t been last year, but after the disaster EFE last year, i wanted to come this year.

And no, i`m not going on the track as my car is just not fast enough.
(does give quite good mileage tho.. ;D)

Yes Olaf members car vids would be a nice touch  I'm looking forward to it as well, went to Combe RS day it was awesome. Mk 1 RS1600 white bubble arched with a 2.0 BDA with mechanical injection, on the track this thing sounded  :o crazy. It was still seriously fast and handled great to  for an old timer.

Dave, Hope the rolling road goes ok, got to be the safest way forward. The turbos, where they bb or journal? When I ran the drill on mine the oil came out for a fair few seconds after , maybe ten or fifteen . So may be the oil was still in the bottom end a few seconds longer? Fingers crossed hope to see you and the minker on the 7th :P

So no one else off here is going?

Cheers Ade

I think it was a great day.
Just too bad it took me 2 hours to get to the entrance...

Many thanks to Ade500 for letting me stay @ his house for the weekend

I did manage to get some footage of TurboShed`s car and the silver XR4i with throttle bodies.
Also some clips from Ade500 girlfriends son in his Focus RS.

When i have got the clips ready, i will post the links to them here

Seemed alot better than last year I thought ;D

However I think everyone had the same idea, getting stuck in 3 miles of traffic  @ 7:30 am is just mad!!!!!!

By the time I got to the track at 9 I was so fired up that I pretty much over cooked every corner.

Car spent as much time sideways as it did going straight :o ;D

Was a good day & great to meet everyone

Ok, got the clips edited ;D
Too bad the clip from TurboShed wasn`t useable..

So it`s mostly the Focus RS from Ade500`s girlfriends son.
He probably still has got the very big smile on his face...

Last bit is the 24V xr4i with throttlebodies (what a sound..)

bugger whats up with the footage olaf?
I had a good time as i only had the one session booked in the afternoon so i had time to catch up with people and see some other cars,I had a goodtime on track, a few battles with some right idiots who obviously where more interested in scratching there nuts rather than listening to the safety breifing .
After 20 mins my dipstick handle melted and then fell off onto the exhaust manifold causing a small fire,I just remember the marshall running towards my car whilst pulling the pin out off a jumbo sized power fire extinguisher,i put my hands in the air and waved shouting no!!!! powder makes a right mess, trust me i have used it before,it was only a small fire so i just blew it out, although it was like one of those birthday candles that re-light a few times ;D

The part of you screaming by is not on the tape..
It`s just a nice blue screen(i.e. nothing recorded..)
That sometimes happens :'(

Did you get home ok, with all that plastic hanging over the dipstick hole?
Still was a good day tho ;D
