Rusty arches fix

Advice please, on the best way to cure scabby rear arches for the next 5 years or so, also sills, is it best to patch the bit the MOT man does not pass, or cut away the whole lot and weld in a new one.

What has this work cost anyone, and do any repairers come reccomended? South East England, I don't want to wear out the car getting htere and back!

Mk 3 Scorpio, but they rust just like sierras ;-)

Cheers

Gareth

What is it with these old Fords? You can buy a £150 pile of citroen or peugeout 1990 junk without a trace of rust on it (shame about the rest, like heater does not heat, electrics that do not connect, suspension arms that fail with such regularity that the whole arm with joint is only £40) but Ford never solved the rust problem - in fact from what I have heard the mark 4 scorpio was even worse than the earlier variety!

Still looking for a low miles rust free mk3 facelift hatch,   (but still got an engineless 24v in the garage, pending an engine change)

Cheers
