why do I see members with member numbers of 10,000 plus if we only have 2251 members?

my own number is over 4000 and I wondered how many people have joined since me, that was all

Well, as far as i can see it just assigns numbers in sequence.
But i have upgraded the forum software twice, and each time the database needs to be changed for the new features.

That`s probably the reason for the strange numbering
Keep it very sideways..
