i receved some bad news from Rich @ Launch motorsport who orginise these days

................................................................................
...........................

Bad news i'm afraid,It would seem that the persistent moaning of some of the residents at Kemble has now had an effect on all track days for the foreseeable future.Last week the council put an enforcement notice on Kemble to stop all track days until further notice. This means that i have no choice other than to cancel the planned days(Nov/Dec).

Sorry if this has caused you problems but this one is out of my hands,I've been in touch with Colerne and Hullavington to try and arrange alternative days and should get a response in a few days.I've asked for a list of list of venues which he will provide.

The search of a new venue may take a while and could mean that Launch as an events company may not operate until we can find something both suitable and local(ish),And event if we do find something there will be changes,Such as price, rules ,noise regs all the usual stuff you have to do on a track.

Kemble are going to fight this one and i'm pretty sure that when they can operate again i will be given the heads up,But again when they open there will be a whole new set of regs and rules to adhere to.

This was going to happen sooner or later so it's just a matter of process and being patient,I would like to thank you for your support and attendance over the past year and will keep you informed of any changes.

cheers

Rich and the LMS team

However there is a plan in the offing to hi-light the problems faced

................................................................................
.......................................................

I'm gonna get on this today,The plan is to get a hundred cars plus, have magazines, local news and papers involved.hopefully we can get a police escort as well.

Just a rough idea of the day

09:30 meet up at Leigh Delamere services. Photos coffee all the usual stuff.

11:00 convoy(hopefully with an escort)onto the A429 towards Cirencester. This will take us past Kemble.

once past kemble we go onto the A433 and head for the M4.
once onto the M4 we cruise down to the M5 and head for Cheddar.where i will have the snack waiting to provide us all with lunch(courtesy LMS)I hope to have a car park set a side for us.

i would have thought this would wrap up for about 15:00 ish

any thoughts and suggestions appreciated

I'm gonna post this every where once i've spoken to the police and magazines etc.please feel free to spread the word

The object of this cruise is to get the local councils to see sense.surely the more organized track days and airfield days there are will mean safer streets and less damage for them pay for as we wont be crashing into there bus stops, round abouts etc.

the date i'm looking at is Saturday January 9th 2010.

cheers rich

Bugger I was looking forward to doing at least one Kemble day next year

Fab location & a good event.

I will try & make that convoy but in the FordPower van

Some people will moan about anything it's an airfield for gods sake, if you don't like noise why move next door to an airfield

I agree.

You will also probably find it has been spear headed by some narrow minded @rse / @rsess who hasn't lived there very long.

Had similair situation at Brands a few years back.....

FFS I wouldnt park my caravan on the M25 then moan about the lorries !!

Good luck with the campaign
It's nice to be important but

Update from Launch Motorsoprt
................................................................................
............................................

I've set up an online petition to try and get local councils to allow us more access to Private or MOD airfields. Please take the time to go onto the link and add your name, then pass it on and spread the word as far as possible..thanks

I will sign later when I have more time.

Keep up the fight.

We used to have a choice of 3 old airfields near me but got kicked off them in the end.

Now everyone uses public roads for testing etc.

When will the powers that be learn
