Could I ask, why after adding my post, the thread was locked.

Yes it was a little of topic, but I needed to add some facts to the thread.

what more did I say?

Hi Cossie

No you said nothing wrong. it's just & I am sure you will agree with me anything relating to Top Boss seems to start a argument & that causes people to start digging at each other & say things on a public forum that is not what you want to read after a long day at work

Espically when someone like me has to spend their time looking through it deleteing stuff & trying to keep both sides happy.

It would be better to start a new topic about the Blue XR4x4 as it would start off positive & hopefully stay that way.

It's better for Top Boss, better for this forum & for everyone who uses it.

Anyway thought you had gave up on Sierra's now

While I agree slagging off someone is not really constructive, there are probably still a lot of Sierra owners etc.. who might venture down the 24v road and who are looking for someone reliable to carry out a conversion for them. I think if people recount positive or negative experiences with any business they deal with it, it benefits others so they can make more informed choices. I can go to the cinema and watch a crap film and then slate the film to friends - hey the critics do that all the time in papers and web sites- It doesn't end up in court. It's all opinions - but you can only give credence if the person has actually seen the film and not just 'heard about it'. The same applies here - if people actually have a bad experience with a company, they should be allowed express what the problems were and if it was resolved. If resolved satisfactorily - give credit where credit is due, but if there are dodgey practices going on - warn people so they don't get caught. If enough 'noise' is created, it may then force those to improve their game to the benefit of all.

We've all raved when people do great work or come up with good stuff - i.e. Barry getting the blades manufactured to a better standard then the Ford ones and getting the rocker cover gaskets made or Shaun getting the hoses manufactured from Samco. Mikey J making up manifolds and plenums etc.. Ian in Specialised engines told me a few weeks ago that he's getting the other guides made up now too. This is all valuable information and as 24v'ers we need this information and products. In saying that if there were issues with any of these products - I'm sure the guys would do their utmost to rectify the problem - their name and quality of their work is their business and we appreciate it otherwise no-one else will buy the products. Criticism should be seen as consructive and should not be swept under the carpet or ran away from - it's an opportunity for those receiving it to take it on board and sort out where they got it wrong and rectify it and then bleat about it when they have sorted it and get good press out of it.

The question that really needs to be answered is does this site need a sticky with a list of Garages\businesses that carry out 24v conversions and other related work and let people rate it?

i totaly agree with dave, but add, its not just Top Boss, if the same happend with any other business i would expect the same actions, to be clear we are not going to be bias at all to any one.

NO we do not!
in my opinion one persons view of a job, business or person is fine, but what tends to happen is people seem to take sides and it all goes pair shapped,, THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN HERE!

Apologies Guys, I was just trying to see if there was a way to constructively deal with this and offer suggestions. I can now see very clearly the underlying reasons why the moderators\owners take their position re this area so will not make any further suggestions.
