Bit late but if it's enabled in your settings you should still get an email when you have a PM.
The new PM indication is not as in your face as before & I can not see a way of making it as before however you can get a pop up to come up that is similar to before.
If you go to your profile then to the personal message options, tick the pop up box & select always for email notification.
Then click change profile to save.
Any problems let a member of admin or a mod know. cheers.
