its not so bad.

i used nitro on the capri v8, first i killed the transmission to alote off pieces. fixed that, next run the driveshaft bent, fixed that, the the diff in rear axle broke and decided to leave the housing. thats when i decided to use a controller for the nitro, so the hit off the nitro is not so hard.

but now i have sold the nitro set. nitro is harder to get around here and the prices off the filling off the bottle go up.  last time i was quoted 75 euro's for filling the bottle, witch only last 2 runs.

when you know what your doing, its a great power adder.

and thats the clue.

i have seen a lote off people, running with stock engine and drive trains, blowing the engine up or killing the drive train, because they did not know what they are doing, got the wrong mixture, hit the button at a low rpm, to high nitro/fuel settings, running the nitroset with a stock fuel pump, doggy wiring, and the list goes on.

to handling nitro safely, you need to know what your doing. its not just a bold one, tuning the nitro set with your engine take time and skill.

like every power adder.

hit the button at a low rpm...

O.k I see how that would be bad with say a 100 shot    BUT control is the key. what do you think of these progressive systems that have various switch points on the throttle? anyway, surely you can control it perfectly with emerald or ms? mapped? I would use it specificly for low rpm, to smooth out lag  and tail off when the turbo makes boost rather than increase power throughout the mid and upper revs... should work right? AND I heard getting BIG cylinders from airsupplies or whoever and filling your own bottle works out realy cheap... I'd ruled it out on safety but you lot got me thinking again

Well you always get idiots

I don't think you need to worry unless your stupid with it.

Same laws apply as for anything!

You can not double or more an engines power output & think it will last

i liked my progressive controller, it used the rpm and ignition signal. the only signal it got from the trottle was if it was completly open.

i have now experiance with nitro and turbo's and reducing the lag, but i think the lag is happening starting around 3000 rpm. activating the nitro than would not cause a problem and i think that the doses off nitro will not be high to compansate for the lag.

i dont know if you can use a emerald or ms as progressive controller for your nitro system. i know most aftermarket ecu have a rpm switch for turning on the nitro.
