i'm having a break this year, saving some money for a non car related holiday plus a new custom exhaust.
it's a shame as the car is packing more poke and a better clutch this year, so would of been better in the sprints, just recently changed my box as It broke some teeth off aswell.going to miss the trip alot hope its a good shows as always!

i dont know if i will gone make it, the parts supply from the states has some problems again, or beter said, the post delivery made some errors and send the packages back to the states. so the 65 stang will not be there, either is the blue capri v8, that one is still hidden away in the garage.

but it seems there is intressed for the event is less than last years, if i look at other forums.  the wheather would be nice and not to hot.

lets see what gone turn up. with some luck i find a way to get there.

Well, you could do that, you have got a good chance to be in the finals
I`m curious how fast Jurgen`s mk2 is going to be.
He has got the engine setttings about right now.

Paul, you just got to be there.
You live so close to the Megaland terrain, why don`t you ask someone to drop you off there tomorrow?

(i don`t think we drive past Stein, else we could pick you up)

Don't know if I will be doing sprints yet.

Will think about it during the day.

I just finished mounting the rear diff and a few other bits an bobs.

Don't want to do a sprint and find the diff on the floor.

And the engine mapping isn't completed yet too

We will see.................

Maybe I'll see some of you tomorrow, I'll be in a radiant red Sapphire GT. I won't be doing sprints cause the DOHC has had a long and exhausting life.

He won his run against the RS.
He really had big problems with the front tyres, they kept spinning..

We both only did one run though.

p.s. the time measuerment was quirky again..
I had the fastest time of 0:0:47...

Was funny really so see that they actually printed it out too

diy timing tools, we even talk about it in the car, when we drove up there. and they want to do a 1/4 mile next year???

here where flyers handed out for the next year, saying that the event will be in katwijk, near rotterdam. on a old air force base.

i did see the run from jurgen, yes the car was spinning the front wheels. he still managed to beat the rs.

I talked to Jurgen for a while when he was standing next to his car. I don't think he knew it was me though. I might have seen others too, but cars are easier to recognize than people if you don't know their faces.

I didn't stay until the end, but I suppose the sprint was won by a Belgium guy in a black sapph cos. A video some Dutch guy shot:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t11k3DJw5bQ]video EFE 2009

The Belgium guy is the last car in the vid.

Only did 1 run.

Wanted to see if the drive train would hold.

But due the crappy tarmac the fronts were spinning for about 1 to 1.5 secs.

On proper tarmac the fronts don't spin and I would have had a great run.

Always next year with a new venue!

Yes people. The EFE is going elsewhere!

Proper tarmac and with a proper 1/4 mile run I have been told!

then lets hope the organisation off EFE has more luck than the vw people, the goverment did not gave a permit to use the old airport, so they had to cancel there meeting in katwijk.

I talked to you about the spark plugs you use in the 24v and was quite supprised to hear that the Escort is a 4x4. At the time I kinda forgot to mention we knew each other from here.

I'll remember it for next time though.
