European Ford Event 2009.
« on: July 24, 2009, 19:49:49 PM »
held on september 13th 2009.

Now in its 15th year, this years European Ford Event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The Ford XR/RS-club of Holland will once again be holding their huge XR/RS-show on September 13th 2009.

After several successful years at Baarlo Speedway Track, and at Sevenum, both near Venlo, the show moved south in 1999 to the large Sports Stadium at Landgraaf.

if the given information is correct, at least what they told me,  this years show will also be the last time in landgraaf.

The Show:

There is usually an attendance of over 3000 vehicles, with Ford clubs from all over Europe, and it is an opportunity to see all the stuff
you have never seen before. RS2600‚‚žÂs, 2-door Sierra XR, Taunus, German Spec RS1600i‚‚žÂs, etc, etc. Dutch insurance rules allow any modification except bhp at no extra cost, so they are into
customizing / modifications in a big way. UK Fords have taken many of the honors in the concours, so if you have a tidy motor, get it entered. They prefer totally original, even with the odd
scratch, rather than mint but restored. And you don‚‚žÂt need the RSOC logbook. The XR/RS club traditionally run sprint events down the track all day. Anyone can participate. Especially the sprint-
races are favoured by all Ford-fans and are a guarantee for a lot of spectacle and quite a few embarrased drivers ... !

With the meeting being a 1-day event, the Saturday is normally "Nurburgring-Day" for the RSOC-members who come over to Holland for
the weekend.

This legendary circuit (over 14 miles long) is just a one hour drive away from Landgraaf.

The XR owners club shall be there like every year and shall display there selfs on the Club-Lane!

Visiting Clubs:

Entrance for the European Ford event 2009: €€Ã‚12,=. gates open at 9.00.

i hope to see you there.

Paul there is not many cars going from the U.K this year.

Not with the XROC anyway.

Shame as it's a good event but people are little worried about money at the moment.

Well worth travelling if you have some spare dosh.

i think the most off us worrie about money at the moment. even i have to be carefull spending money at the moment.

but its the only big show i will go to this year, due circumstances. otherwise i would be at ford fair this year.

i hope to be there whit my new (old) car, just need to find the time to swap the engine/gearbox and some other stuff.  i did make a start today, and removed the old crap. whit 6 weeks to go, i must be able to get the car up and running again. we make this topic into a guesing game.  well i give you a hint, true to my "religion", its a ford, its older than me and its a u.s car.

Hi Paul, unfortunatelty I wont be going as many others, its getting to be a very expensive jaunt and the cost have got very high over the last few years. The poor exchange rate makes it even worse! Also getting married next year is taking priority.

I think I'm right there will be a few XROC members going but nothing like previous years. One being Peter S, Simes and Marcus.

Well, i do think it`s too bad everything is getting so expensive now..

But I will be there, and my brother probably too.
I find the sprint very nice, a free chance to see if the mods on your car have any effect.

mmm, maybe i should enter myself again...
Keep it very sideways..

I small part of me will miss it this year as it would have been my 10th year on the trot! And this is still a show I thoroughly enjoy, much more than the UK shows, and I mean that. I think ideally in the furture I'd like to stay in Holland for longer and perhaps move about a bit more and do my own thing maybe.

Enjoy yourselves and take plenty of pictures!

I agree with Rob, this is probably the best show out there, and what with it being so close to the Nurburgring makes it ideal

Like everybody else we can't make it this year either, just spent all my spare cash on a house
