Just been wondering if anyone has thought about putting a 3.0 jag v6 into a sierra?? Think it's a st220 engine but in a rwd configeration. I'm also wondering if it's a ford mt75 gearbox it uses on the manual??

Might be a silly question but as the prices for whole cars are going down, you might be able to get a cheap (maybe free!) 240 bhp engine and box if you strip the car and sell the bits not needed

The s-type manual uses a Getrag 221 but you can use a T5 with an adapter plate... been thinking of using one of them in a capri but more tempted by the X350 motor now

3.5 litre, all alloy singleplane v8, 4 valve with vvt on both sides, 270 bhp bogo, manual is T5
I'd drop the compression with custom pistons and wack FOUR little turbos on it with2 into one manifolds for about 500bhp with F*ck all lag and about the same weight as a 2.8 cologne

btw - its Ford realy - derived from the 2.0 4pot duratec but don't let that put you off lol

 Got ya now m8,

Didn't Noble use a version of the v6 in thier cars tho?? They used twin garret T28's which gave 430 horses.

Think it was the ford engine, before they used the 3.0 they used the 2.5 Which sorta tallys lol

TwinTurbo

I have thought about it in using a Mondeo engine.. But the getrag manual is a rare option and the box and belhousing combination was only used elsewhere in some Lincoln thing.

I think Noble mounted it transversly as in the Mondeo.

You could just run the s-types auto - its a pretty good one I think, 5 speed, all selectable. Tony made a good case for running autos I seem to remeber

Was thinking of a manual S type engine and box in a sierra, thought a hybrid prop and engine and box mountings wouldn't be that difficult. Then realised the gearlever might be in the wrong place??
