Does anyone know if it's possible to put a Duratec 24v into an escort?

Has it been done?

Well it looked a bit hard.

I remember a Fiesta with one too & a Escort with a twin turbo version mid mounted track car.

I will have a look.

So long as the bulkhead, chassis do not need work, I can't see fabricating a subframe being too difficult.

And there must be suitable shafts arround.

Had a quick look in my collection.

The twin turbo mid engined one is way way hard to do.

A simple FWD V6 Escort is not to hard but I think it would be a bad handler!

Galaxy err why even bother with one of them???????

Galaxy.....

Why not...

Our 2.3 FWD wheelspins and drinks fuel...

So I could build a drifter that drinks fuel, scares the family shitles and is fun for me

THanks for the pics Dave.

I think decent 3dr escorts of sportier spec are starting to follow the 2drs... There's hardly any cheap Mk3's few MK4's ...

I am going to end up with a spare engine at some point when the wife's mondeo finaly fails an MOT on something costly so just wondering what to do with it since finding a S-Type gearbox cheaply is not easy.

Anything can be picked up cheaply if you just take your time & keep your eyes open.

Thought you didn't want to do much work to it?

S types are rear wheel drive

well it's either easyish fwd ( easy but fwd )
or harder rwd ( harder but more fun in the end...)

Anyway, at my current pace it's probably going to be two years before the Sapphy and Golf are done.
