Just testing the water for a mate, what is the genral value of an S1 RST? my mate has been sitting on one for years, his intentions where to make a show car out of it, he spent a shed load of cash a few years ago on the body and running gear (poly bush, konis, springs etc) he did not cut corners. But, cash is now a problem, he had brought the engine and gear box to me for refurb, he intended to grind shaft rebore new everything, it only got as far as stripping and cleaning then his cash run out. the engine is now sitting in boxes in my workshop. the gear box was to get new bearing and syncros, that is sitting untouched under my bench. I know this is a difficult one to assess, any body got a clue as I don't, and I don't want to bust his bubble without some kind of "other opinion" what do you think?

This one is in nice condition - loads of new stuff and upgrades and a 2 week old paint job - and no bids with nine hours to go - so its not good news realy    I think they fall into that category of car that has lost its original standing but hasn't quite made it to classic or modern classic status.

It's alway's a problem with part dismantled cars, the resale value is pretty much nil, unless you find somebody that actualy knows the car, and what has been done to it. But not to put too fine a point on it I reckon between £500, and £1500, and he would be very lucky to get the top figure. Sad really that he couldn't complete the rebuild. Cheers Ray
