What ya dad had.

I suspect most of us picked a side (Ford or Vauxhall) based on what our pops ran...what lovely fords did your old man own? Did you stand unrestrained in the rear footwell between the seats, playing "make and model" everywhere you went?

He did have a Zodiac before i was born but was a Cortina man realy...he had saloons and estates but the ones i remeber best was a yellow mk3 estate that damn near fell to peices with rust that started at the rear valance and dark green metalic mk3 saloon with a 1300 and an auto box - shameful up hills it was. He had a foreign pikey lefthooker taunus too that went up in smoke for no apparent reason. Later he started using Fiestas for daily drivers   Sadly my dad wasn't into performance so we never had any intresting or decent ones but it was enough to make me a Ford man too. SO what blue ovals did your dad have?

the only ford my dad ever had was a '04 fiesta whit a 1,25. before that he drove mainly vauxhul, 3 audi's and now a mercedes a class.

so i don't have the ford love from my parents, actuely when i bought my first ford, they where not very pleased, to say the least.

Oh god where to I start.......well its definitely where I get my love of ford`s from. My old man mainly had mk2/3 cortina`s, he did a apprenticeship as a mechanic when he first left school before swapping over to carpentry so he`s always been tinkering with his cars.

Started off doing road going race mini`s, then as he got married and had us so swapped over to cortina`s.  He`s had god knows how many mk1/2 transits for work with tuned pinto lumps in. Had a 1.6 205gti at one point. He even turned to the dark side and had a 2.0l 16v vauxhall calibra a good few years ago. Never forget water pissing in everytime you opened the boot! Was a common problem I think but got rid of that as he ended up getting too many points on his licence   .
Ever since I can remember he`s had either a old landrover or rangerover in the garage as well.

It`s not until I started mucking about with cars he went back to his old ways......Last ford he had was a mk1 focus st170 which he sold afew years ago. Now he`s got a series 3 landrover with a essex V6 in and another 1986 3.5 V8 rangerover.

I know he secretly wants a go in my escort because he keeps on at me to get it finished!

My old man only ever drove Austins and Morris's, but then he died in 1964, so I wouldn't mind the cars he had then, now! A30's A35's and A40's. I think he had one or two of each. Never ever owned a Ford. Me I've owned several Ford Pop, Anglia (the square one), Cortina Mk3, Z/Zodiac (straight)6, Zepher 4 Mk3,
, Granada 2ltr, Granada 2.9i, and one that I can't remember the name of had a pointy front and a 2ltr. V4 engine. Ah! those were the days, but then I started driving in 1955,   and have owned other loads of rubbish as well,   Cheers Ray

Capri?? as far as I can remember the capri name was used on the coupe model of the ford classic, from then called the classic capri, I don't think the corsair came under that banner, then again I could be wrong, also an age thing.

Dad was a mechanic for most of his working life. Mostly fords for the last 20 years of his working life, so on that strength he would never own 'a Dagenham Dustbin' (his words before i get flamed).
I spent most of my childhood/teenager years cringing in the back of either a Morris Marina, Austin Allegro, Austin 1100/1300 or some other Austin 'A powered' beast.
Best thing i used to look forward to was either the P100 pickup being borught home of a weekend and sitting in the flat back driving around town, or sitting on wheelarch of Tranny of a Saturday afternoon.
Cheers
Kevin

Know the feeling - my grandad ordered a brand new Marina 1300L with vinyl roof but popped his cloggs before it got delivered...so we inherited it  it was a nasty shade of green with a vinyl roof...hated vinyl roofs ever since...scarred i was..
