whilst fideling with the project mondeo V6... Rather than give up and have a cup of coffee I decided to find the front exhaust leak. The joint between the cat bypass and main system was leaking so I decided to smear on some firegum until I can get it up high enough to unbolt and reseal..

So... workign at arms length from the side of the car I smeared the gum on.. Half way through, somehow a tiny blom flicked the  2.5ft  from the end of my arm side ways and into my right eye....... Fk me did I move quick, was in bathing it in a jiffy but could not see anything.. after poking around a bit bathign more, finishing the job in hand and then checking the mirror a gain the eyball was quite swolen and puffy.. A can of beer soothed it but it was off to hospital...

It was intensivly bathed, and afterwards they could not find anything and I suspect it was long gon back at the house but it's brife encounter had realy agrivated my poor eye...

Still puffy, still sore and streaming.

Guess I should have been wearign gogles, but you realy don't expect past to jump 2.5ft sideways!!!!

Last time I was in casualty for myself was about 4 years ago after a tiny spec of grindind passed through a goggle vent..  It had been in a week and the DOC spotted the Rust ring

So... TAKE Care!!!

I am on normal + liquid analgesia...

TT

Get wood chips from ripping down timber at work all the time (even with goggles on) but one of the worst things I ever got in my eye was a pickled onion! Kid you not......was only young, not looking what I was doing with my fork at the dinner table. Family never let me forget that one lol that proper sung like a bitch at the time, was dripping in vinegar so can see where dogslegs in coming from.

Must say I probably wouldnt have been wearing goggles for smearing putty on a exhaust.  Always happens when you least expect it though.........Hope your eye returns to normal soon TT theres nothing worst mate.

vinigar in the eye realy is the worst thing i can imagine to get in i've never know anything sting like the way that did i was only about 13 or so at the time me and my mate were sitting in his kitchen and decided to have a fight with the condements   i had the tomato sauce bottle he had the sarsons   any way's the top came off the tomato sauce and he ended up with a red line across the table up his chest then a big splodge on the wall needless to say he was'nt to happy with my aim so off came his sarsons top in retalyation and got me square in the eye    i droped to the floor like a bag of shite after running around the kitchen a few times screaming and repeatedly punching my eye because of the pain that was realy painful somthing i'll never forget in a hurry .

Got me own chair down the eye clinic amount of times I've had metal in my eyes   , no matter how much eye protection you wear it can still get in there.

My last trip to A&E was begining of month, some gentleman not of this country put some stuff in my eye then looked at it and said I'll get that out, bent my head back and then proceeded to stick a needle in my eye, I shouted FOR FUCK SAKE, he jumped back and then said I'll put some anaesthetic in that which he did double quick and left the room just as quick.

When he came back in he said to me does that feel numb to which my reply was No but if its not your be the first to find out how much it hurts. he left the room and some else came and done it   still ended up in the eye clinic next morning for it to be done properly.

Think we have all been there

I am always stabbing myself, getting something in my eye or banging my head on something

I have had the rusty eye thing too, lost partial sight for a week till it cleared.

Get well soon.

hi there, i was taking the suspension of my mates ST24 a month ago swapping the springs we were on the last corner and it had been a right bitch, i had the 1/2inch big boy rachet on the bolt holding the strut into the hub, pulling like an arse with oily hands is never good, it slipped and flew of commedy style and split my eye brow open, not sure what stung more the impact of instantly holding it with a CV greeze covered hand.... had to go intowork (estate agent) with a big black eye and scar over my eye,

No one believes how i did it, i ended up just saying my Mrs hit me with the frying pan it was more believeable.

All part of the fun Eh.

I got a speck of black powder in my right eye a few weeks ago while shooting old style revolvers. I had finished shooting and stepped back and removed my shooting glasses, that's when a stray speck from someone elses gun decided to find a home in my eye.
Flushed it through and it was fine until xmas eve when my eye started to twitch and swell, the optician got it out with some tweezers.

Marty, you have yet to experience the pain of black powder, trust me its not pleasent

sympathy vote here pal.
i have been reconditioning a ten ton overhead crane over christmas which involved it being repainted in grey machine enamel paint.
got some splashed in my left eye!
BY FUCK does it hurt!!
try getting off the crane, into a scissor lift and lowering yourself 40 foot, getting out of the scissor lift and finding some eye wash when your screaming like a banshee!!
it doesnt help that i went arse over tit cos i never uncoupled my harness!!!
i must have looked a right one dancing around and screaming.
