Hi again everyone how are we all? hope we are all good

Well its time to update you all on where i've been for the last year, Arguing with Hyperformance insurance over my sapphire that i built over last christmas! they offered me £100 for a sapphire cosworth replica with a 2.9 24valve rear wheel drive setup.
In the end i've had my car back for parts and £1000 so here is the new base for my running gear out of the old one.
The parts will be coming from this car.

and getting built into this car.

I'm thinking of leaving it this colour with the following changes bodywise:-
4x4 cosworth bonnet,
4x4 cosworth front bumper,
Cosworth sideskirts
It has got the cosworth grille and bootspoiler on already so no worries there.

Let me know what you think everyone.
Cheers Shaun.

It certainly is mate, when i went to look at it i had visions of it bein that pale metalic green colour they did them in but luckily it was this colour.
The shell is absolutley mint not even a spot of rust anywhere so im well happy with it for what i paid for it delivered (thats a trade secret though) all i need to sort it really is a nice set of five stud wheels as ive got everythin else.

Hi everyone just thought i would add an update or two to keep you all interested.
Here are a few pictures of some of the parts that i have dropped on for my project car all of which are thanks to that great place Ebay.

Obviously i am going to have to get some caliper brackets made up and get some alloy mounting bells made but thats a small price to pay for the awesome stopping capabilities that these brakes are going to provide.

I also have a choice of interiors to fit now too but not sure which one to fit yet,
I have a light grey cloth trim, dark grey cloth trim and leather but not sure which im gona be using as yet as the leather front seats need re-triming.

Remko GT

Looking good!

I'm jealous of that bumper

Where did you get those splitters from? I'm still looking for one for my own Sierra project.

Glad to be making you jealous mate

I bought the splitter off ebay mate they are listed all the time, if you do a search for rs500 splitters you should find them, it cost me £90 including postage thats all.

sjwag

Hey up mate hows it going, yeah got mine very reasonable indeed, (FREE!!!!!!!!!!) lol

I have decide due to costs involved that i'm gona keep the brakes to one side and fit some evo brakes instead and fit these wheels to the beauty.

It should look pretty cool when it's built up though.
By the way I have just sourced some alcantara which is virtually the same colour as the car so gona get the recaros the rest of the seats and the door trims done in it.

Nice wheels mate but you do know that they are a different stud pattern to the granada hubs you have   Evo's run on 5x114.3 pcd where as the granada's run 5x112 pcd. If you bolt em on you are gonna bend the studs   The only way you may get em on is if you use a conversion nut with a moveable sleeve to adapt the wheels correctly, then you will need a suitable spiggot ring to allow them to locate on the hubs properly to prevent vibration

Actually mate yes I do know what offset and pcd the wheels I have bought are but thanks for letting me know something I allready knew mate   lol. only messing.
I am actually doing it totaly differently mate and having my hubs machined to accept the evo discs on the front and I have got some 15mm hubcentric adapters for the back so that the wheels fill the arches better.
Oddly enough if you had looked at my post properly you would realise that I actually know quite a lot when it comes to cars and what will fit or wont fit but I will let you off just this once as I am feeling generous today.

Thanks for pointing out to me that i failed to look at your post properly...............    I was just pointing out the fact that the wheels are different to the hubs you have, but there you go maybe i should just keep my knowledge to myself eh   But looking through your post again, just incase i DID fail to look at it properly it dont say anything about getting the mitsi wheels to 'gel' with the granny hubs. What i read and understood was that you are gonna have the evo discs modded to go on the granny hubs, hence the post i put up   Sorry for telling you stuff you already know, i failed to realise how much you actually know when it comes to cars   I wont bother posting to your threads again as i would feel that i am probably trying to tell you to suck eggs...!!!!!

Oh and for the record, this site is full of people giving some good information whether it be good, bad or what you may already know... Its what this place is built on but i feel with you, you are probably one of those people that dont like being told things based on others knowledge and experiences and maybe conflicting in what you may or may not know but i for one dont like people sort of taking the piss  saying things like ' thanks for telling me something i already know' and then ' i will let you off this once as im feeling generous'  Now i would usually just shrug this off and laugh but i sort of take your return post a bit personally and feel you are implying i dont know shite when prehaps i probably do.......

Well i've had my say, and i gave you a polite post earlier regarding you project which does look and sound very interesting and i wish you all the best with it. I do hope if you need help and awnsers with your car or if someone maybe posts some info that may be of use to you or not cos you probably already know, that you think before posting because you may rub people up the wrong way.............................

Don't take it to heart mate I was joking in my earlier response with what was put in the post and what you had said.
For the record I can be quite sarcastic but sometimes I don't realise that I am doing it.
I didn't mean any offence and appologise if any was taken, to be fair if I did not know the facts then you would of been making a very good point and in no way was I trying to say that you know nothing as quite clearly from your post you do know some very usefull information.
Hope this public appology appeases the situation as I am not in the habbit of upseting people and do like to make friends rather than enemies.

TwinTurbo

I used to have a set of very very rare Enkie 4 Stud alloys that came off a An old Rally Mitsu..

They bolted straight to the 4 stud sierra hubs. I only ever saw one other set and that was on Alan Jefferies old XR4i ( FLY 81T )

Takes alot to publicly apologise and i accept too   I will also apologise myself as maybe i was too hastent to reply when i should have probably pm'ed instead. I too am on here to make friends and from your honest reply i hope what i said in my earlier post can be disregarded and we can move on.

Sarcasism is lost in txt between people who don't know each other properly, you wouldn't believe (well some of you will) the amount of replies i've written but deleted before submitting the post thinking best not say that..... glad you two have made up. this a nice site with out the bitching of all (almost all) the others.

Any hoos any photo updates on the saph? i need some inspiration....

Thanks mate that means a lot to me as you seem like a very knowledgable person and after your returned message above genuine, nice guy.
I am glad that a sarcy message by myself didn't cause me to lose a friend before I made one so thanks for accepting my apology and I accept yours too.

Thanks mate it is allways good to hear a friendly message and I have to agree the people on here are the most friendly of any ford related site that I know of.

I havn't started on the sapphire as yet as I have another 16 months before I am allowed to drive again so just accumulating parts ready for the full build of it.

oops.... 16months.... ban or ill heath?

16months is a long time, you'll have a monster project ahead of you then with all the parts you've bound to accumulate. Mines been off the road for 5months now and i can't close the door on the shed for bits...

i thought only i did that    I kid ya not, I only submit about half the replies I type, read and then think better of   if people think the stuff i do post is stupid, beleive me, you have no idea

I'm always grateful for peoples response to my posts, even if i don't follow their advise - and ians right - sarcasm intended in a lighthearted way can often be perceived as pisstaking - I know i got accused of that a lot - hence the frequent post aborts - right, alloy wheels or something wasn't it? carry on!

Down to her magesties injustice system i'm afraid lol.
I have 2 7ft by 3ft shelves with 2ft of space between them full, the shell is on a frame and underneath the car is full my box room is full and I have 2 interiors in my bedroom lol.
Plus the white donor car has stuf in and still hasn't been stripped.
Should be an awesome car once built though (so long as I stop spending on my other car in the meantime).
