Cars For Sale / XR4x4 Twin Turbo
« Last post by sierra3dr on July 12, 2020, 10:49:03 AM »
Taken from the XR-Owners forum ......."Hi all, used to be on these forums waaaaaayy back in the day, I traveled to Oz many years ago and ended up staying, sadly leaving my XR4x4 Twin Turbo behind. It now looks like I have to move it from where it was stored/sitting in UK. Its been sitting idle outside for a number of years now unfortunately, but basic spec/info:

- Fully rebuilt with Minker spec pistons + heads (from Allan Jeffery, I'd have receipts somewhere) basically had only just been run in before being parked up.
- Lotus Carlton Injectors
- MBE Engine Management
- Alloy Rocker Covers

Other Points

- 3 Spoke RS Wheel
- Front + Side RS skirts (also have used unfitted RS rear apron)
- Cossie 170mph clocks
- F Reg

Body wise I think its a bit messy aka lacquer peeling off paint and rust patches etc. Engine wise its stood for a few years, before that it was practically just run in (was due to go back in and finish off mapping).

I know its a bit hard go on without pics re condition etc, but are these cars/parts worth anything anymore ?"

Wanted, both front and rear bumper RS skirts to finish off my MK3 hatchback project (the rear skirt from the saloon version is different and won't fit the hatchback as i found out)

This question is solved.

I was at the Mercedes dealer this morning and 1 of the older mechanics recognized the wheels. They are a custom set deriving from the Enkei EK96 and are extreme rare as these set of wheels were 16x8 and 16x9 with a very low backspacing and where never sold to the general public as they are a limit option for the Mercedes Sec and AMG models in the '80's. .

For the public the EK96 was only sold as 15x7 and 16x8 in very low numbers as these wheels are $$$$. A cheaper option for the same style wheel was the Remotec or BBS wheels.

If you found or have a wheel(s) that unknown maybe this treat could help. Just post a picture of your wheels.

Guess the wheel question.

I got these wheels on my Taunus 20m. They are 16 x 8 and 16 x 9 5x112. They are from Enkei made for Mercedes like the W124 and w126. They are 2 piece wheels with a center nut.

What the order/part number from this wheel? They are not the 92s or Zona wheels. Or does any one have more info about these wheels?

How is the fuel pressure and the lambda values?

And no there isn't much you can do with the stock ecu to make it run richer. Losing the EGR creates a very lean condition in the mid range of the RPM and the ecu cannot compensate for it.  Some people used bigger injectors or upped the fuel pressure but that opens a other box of problems.

The only way to run the engine properly without the EGR is to use aftermarket ECU.
