Title: Do you find this site useful? Then become a sponsor.
Post by: Tony on May 01, 2009, 23:15:00 PM
Ok guys (and gals...), since Tony doesn`t have the time to run the site anymore, I and my brother (cossiemk2) are running it now.

I moved the site to a better host and will keep it running as it is supposed to do
However, good hosting is not cheap and i also need to work to pay the bill.

So, if you enjoy this site(who doesn't?), why not make a little donation?

It`s easy:
Just click on the (https://www.paypalobjects.com/WEBSCR-640-20110401-1/en_GB/i/btn/btn_donate_SM.gif) button just below the 3 small pictures at the top of the homepage

However, do add a description (including your membername), so i`ll know it`s from one of our members.
So i can change the status to Donation Sponsor

Greetings,
Olaf (fordrwd4ever)

It's not just for Tony paying for the server etc.

It's also for the people doing the work keeping the site up to date and working as it should do.

It's been a lot of work trying to get the site back online and keep it running.

If you could spare a couple of quid to help us out it would mean a lot.

Happy to help share the cost.
A huge thank you to Tony and the others for keeping this site up and running.
The "Wikipedia of 24V" have helped me out lots of times.

many thanks to tho's who  have helped,,

right now i am arranging to buy back our original domain fordpower.org.uk, as you might rememeber this was with supanet and they refused to pass it over to our new provider,
at this time i am expecting a bill for £92 from nominet who now hold this domain so you can see the money will be used for the site and not extra burgers or beer!!
also i am talking to some companys in regard to good quality merchandise, i will update this as soon as i have more info!

Well, let`s hope Tony can pull it of again
In the mean time , i have added a lot of keywords to the frontpage and submitted the site to numerous search engines.

So the site will be more easy to find in a little while

p.s. I also made a little donation

Wow, great

So i can resubmit the site to all the search engines again.
(poor database, it is going to get a big hammering when the old name is back...)
The site will get a lot more visitors again, like it deserves...

Well done mate

Long engagements are not always good either. That's what cause our problem. Everything was cool for a while but after I propsed it was like "it'ok now because we're getting married so why not?"
We would have been better to have just got married sooner.

Well, i have donated something special...
A few boxes of pre-made mix to make the original Dutch "Oliebollen"
Took the mail almost 3 weeks to deliver it to Maddoldbuggers house tho

Just hope he understands the instructions i added
(on the boxes it`s in Dutch only...)

For those who don`t know what they are:

It`s a kind of donut, in a ball shape, with raisins in them

Doesn`t really matter as any donation is welcome

Ok, I just thought I had a 'valid subscription' because the text under my avatar says 'donation sponsor'. If I knew it was overdue, I'd donated some cash long time ago...

Isn't there an option in the system to send us a PM or mail when it's time for a new donation?

------------

I've just made my donation, but I'll suggest that you change the payment options...  There's no option to change the amount if we want to donate more than the £5... In my opinion, you should at least raise it to £10, or let us decide the amount ourselves..
Title: Find this site useful? Become a sponsor
Post by: fordrwd4ever on December 04, 2010, 15:18:06 PM
Ok, got your donation, thank you for it.

About your suggestion, i find it a very good idea, but unfortunately the forum doesn`t support it.
So i made 3 more options, so there is now a choice between 5, 10, 15 or even 20 quid.

But if anyone wants to donate a different amount, feel free to just Paypal it directly to my e-mail address : ovanhees@fordcosworth.nl
In that case do fill in a description (including your membername), so i`ll know its a donation from one of our members
So can update the status to Donation Sponsor

Must say,i was impressed how smoothly the changeover went.

Well, it should be, since now the data doesn`t have to go all over the world anymore.
Now it`s just a few 100km`s to the UK, instead of 3000
