Title: Self reflection and honest talk.
Post by: IansSaph on July 31, 2008, 11:45:40 AM
My Saph

I bought it cause i wanted a 2wd Cosworth, i convinced my self this was good enough as it was half the price of an orginal car. I have the RS logbook but the 2.9 24v, late spec dash and mint rainbow cloth recaro trim, 79k (or maybe 179K who knows) and 20previous owners ( yes twenty) , it was a last minute ebay purchase we've all done it,

The laquer is flaking all over and the wheels are horrible. other than that i love the old girl. I realise i've been critical of everyone lately and this is you chance to 'have a pop' back. all critism will be taking in good spirit. But you all know you've got bits you hate about your own cars. post your pics.

I think its fair to say, we all have our pet hates etc and I for one have been known too voice them

But we all need to remember a few things.

Whatever we like or dislike there will always be someone who's the opposite, also whats put into print in places like theses can be tongue in cheek or just plan old taking the piss by the poster but taken totally the wrong way by the reader of the post.

So, if you think someones out of order or whatever, look at things from every angle and if you still feel there out of order go round there house and give them a kicking

NO If you still feel there out of order the site has a pm button, use it and ask them the question, your more likely find there answer to be the opposite then you are thinking.

Thats exactly it, the purpose of this thread is basically to say, one way comments or @rse kissing is no good to anyone, and no one should take offence from any comments made.
I have a definate opinion on most things i'm happy to tell you it. that will not change. if i'm unsure i'll ask but i'm no 'believer' i'd need to prove it myself. if i don't know the answer i'm likely to say something stupid.

So there!

its mid engine work, i can put it back to a standard BOA with vectra injectors, for £1700 or wait 12months till i'm bored and give me £2500 as a twin turbo and 300bhp plus.

Your young are you not? you'll never insure it. the V5 says sierra cosworth, Group 20!

this is not a sell your car thread. by the way.   but everything has a price....

If it was mine, I would respray it BLACK and get tinted light lenses. I don't mind the wheels but I might swap them for some genuine O.Zs - i think yours are like the supertourismo -
None of this is what you asked but hey

I'd stick to twin turbo route - i think thats the ultimate for a V6. couple of T3s, nice stainles pipes, rolling road map - nice.......

Magenta is the colour for Saphs and there is no telling me otherwise... (although i did like my flint grey one)
Lights stay as ford intended (it does have late spec rears with the tinted numberplate suround if thats what you mean)

Two T2s it has a full stainless system (less downpipes) with a 4inch externally rolled tail pipe.

For the wheels i don't dislike the style of wheel (but the multistud fitment and they are just cheap motorworld shite)  and super Ts would be nice but
(http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i88/n303wdo/DSCF0714.jpg)
rondels are nice
(http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/bigtonyrs/PICT0451.jpg)
But compermotives were made for the saph.

Ive currently got the rainbow cloth, like this inside, (this isn't mine) same trim same late spec dash same 2wd steering wheel) (http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/1374lee/mandyskodak044.jpg)

Smokestone is the only colour to have other than Galaxy Blue.

he he, i just couldn't do it simon, the hand holding the gun would be shaking over the wheels.

@ TT you find me any saphs like mine for £300 i'll buy them all..... my trim is nearly worth that on its own....

My saph is no show car it is what is it. Fun.

Point is, we don't all agree, and gettig narky or up set at comments is daft. Say what you want, freedom of speach and opinion.
