It was up a couple of weeks ago that with a very confusing set of pictures, a few showed a 280 engine and kit and the others showed a 225 set. When I asked about that I was told they were the same engine.... which they clearly weren't

It then went and sold for over £900, but now it's relisted..... odd that!

This is the problem with ebay like the minker estate on there a little while back some people just don't know enough about what they are selling or do not give the full info on the items.

I was watching it and interested in bidding but I didn't bother - didn't even bother asking the questions about the obvious discrepancies.

Something about the description just gave me the impression that the seller is being deliberately evasive/misleading. I'd bet a pound that the no-show buyer worked out that there was something fishy and decided not to risk their hard-earned.

Hello everybody.

I'm interested in that engine. Do you want to say that i can't trust the seller? I want to build that in my granda mk1. I'm pleased with the 225bhp. With a standalone ecu with lpg injection i think i can make more than the 225bhp......i hope!

Or is it to much money for a tt engine you can't hear running??

best regards,

William

Dont know ifit is to much money, but overhere a tt twin turbo kit, no engine does about 500 euros, i paid around 400 euros for my 2.8 single turbo kit (complete, but no engine!), and a normal 2.9er goes for 150 till 350 euros dependingon the state of the engine, and how it looks and such.

I cant tell you if you can trust the seller, i dont know enough abouth the twin turbo kits to see what kindof kit it is!

I'd say it was worth £500.  It appears to have the main important parts, e.g. manifolds, turbos, DCU and extra injectors.  Everything else can be relatively easily sourced except the cylinder heads.  The only way to tell if they are the machined low compression heads is to take them off and have a look.  If the MAP sensor is missing, they can be got new but you are as well off substituting the original GM Motorola one for a Weber Marelli one of a standard Cossie as they seem to be more reliable and easier to find/cheaper(in my experience).

Hello everybody

Thanks for the answers. I contacted the seller but he don't want to hold it for me till the classic ford show unless i pay it for full in advance.
Have to think About it......i really like the engine for the granada! But i also like my money not to be stolen....

William

For a full 225 kit and engine £500 ain't bad ;) If you're happy with the 225bhp then go with it, you'll be amazed how good the torque feels! If you're after a load more power though you might be better of starting from scratch with that idea in mind..........

Hello everybody

It went for 770 pounds. It was to much money for me for an unknown engine.

Thans for the answers!

Best regards,

William
