Does anyone know the RAL number for a c reg 2.8i mk2 granada rocker covers (grey) i want to get the powder coated but dont know the number? thanks

I would take the valve covers (if the paint is still on them) and go to a paint shop, let them look at the color. But a powder coater should be able to do the same.

They have been painted black for some reason

Ford used 3 main colors, Black, blue and grey for the v6 and the v8.

I found the u.s paint codes: Duplicolor Ford Gray (1611) and Duplicolor's Dark Ford Blue (1606) and from Krylon's Dark Ford Blue, which is also the correct shade of dark blue. Plastikote is another paint brand, Royal Blue (1134)

I tried to findout what color cover was fitted on what car, but it doesnt make sense, again. Got two 83 xr4i's, both white cars, same interior, one had blue covers, the other grey. A 84 moonstone xr4i we had had also blue covers, the last white one, 84 again, had the grey ones, and mine, a blue xr4i has the grey ones again. Never seen black covers fitted to a 2.8, but saw them once on a 2.3 sierra, the other 2.3 sierras ive seen all had the grey ones!

Paul, you show the 2.9, never seen them with other color than grey, but didnt have that many, only 2 in scorpios, and im not sure it is the same grey color as on my 2.8, seems lighter, but, it can be the lighting, havent seen my 4i in daylight for ages

My 2.9 was black from the factory with grey covers. Most other 2.4 / 2.9 where grey.

The pictures are from the internet and i wanted to used them as a reference for Balds for the grey color.

To my knowledge the covers on a carbed 2.8 should be black and grey/silver on an injection engine. I've only seen blue on an RS3100, even the RS2600 were black.

The old taunus rs had black and blue painted engines. And yes, the rs3100 also had a blue engine.
