Where to get normal priced big end and cranck bearings

Ive quoted a few companies overhere for 2.8 crank bearings, and 2.9 big end bearings? One company say it shold be around 250 quid, the other one a hundred more, and ive also seen at burton sells them for 120 quid both, a whole difference, but, if i can get them at burton for that amount, there will beanother one cheaper i guess, so, where do you got your bearings from?

a good parts store should be able to order these bearings, at least mine does, for around 80 or 90 euro's. if i dont have to hurry, i order these bearing at summit racing.

I have the gaskets. Last time i checked summit they charged me about 63 dollers of packing and shipping, seems a lot? Need to buy my melling pump and arp con bolts also from summit, will see if they have rings to, no hurry at all!

Summit are expensive if you use the clearance houses it's like half the price.

Just got a full uprated gasket set, mains, big ends, ring set & uprated cam bearings for 150 pounds to my door.

About 300 pounds worth in the U.K.

Where doyou got it from mate? The gaskets wont be a problem, ive got them, but spare aint bad! But, that was a 2.9 kit i think? Should they have a 2.8 kit, but with the 2.9 rings?

Summit isn't the cheapest anymore, if it comes to shipping. but i never had trouble with them.

if you have a cheaper address, let me know. i am looking for a cheaper place to buy parts. but it needs to a relaible source.

I used to use Summit years ago because not many wanted to ship outside the U.S & they did.

Over the years I have built up a collection of contacts that I can just fire off emails too & see what they have.

There are a number of firms/people in the U.S who seem to get their hands on batches of stuff & just sell it off at stupid prices.

I usally look for job lots, anythink not in the package I get them to buy in & include.

Most of them are now selling on U.S eBay so just search that.

Usally works out half the price of Summit but their site is still good for actually looking up parts etc.

And just ask if they could add cam bearings and anything i can think off? Ive got a complete gasket kit, but i can sell the 2.9 gaskets.

Only question left, ive got it on paper anywhere, but i really cant find it, will the 2.9 main bearings fit my 2.8 crank and mains?

the bearings are the same for the 2.8 and 2.9.

Okay, and the big end ones to? Will ask them if they want to make a pack with the 2.8 gaskets and the 2.9 rings and the rest of the needed stuff, they also sell the needed arp bolts, will make a great kit!

the rod and crank bearings are the same. the cam bearings are the same to.

Thanks mate, ill order an full 2.9 kit with the arp conbolts, maybe an timing gear to, found someone who sells aluminium ones cheap!

Yeah that's the sort of thing I mean.

What you find is one guy will have maybe two listings like big ends for $20 & ring sets for $20 just to clear.

So base your deal on them & get him to buy in the other parts you want then send it all complete.

Even the parts they buy in will be less than Summits price unless you get a dodgy one.

These are the kind of people that will also send with reduced declared value & the cheapest postage.

All adds upto a mega saving in the end!
