My chinese T04E T3/T4 stage III turbo went to TT for rebuilding from new - £175 payed for full stip down, some machining/adjustment to housings and wheels, proper 360 bearings, better seals and full VSR balance - even came back shrink wrapped with a TT warranty, and all in a nice TT box ;D how much was the turbo to begin with? £199 ...the bloke at TT said it should be good

i wouldn't obsess about bbs - more axial play, no real gain at low rpm (80 milliseconds better spool?) and more drag than good journals at high rpm. Not saying they aren't worth having if moneys no problem but don't expect miracles just because it has BBs. The watercooling is nice as means you don't need a turbo timer or after oiling so bad but its the GTs wheels that make it better than T series... and again its not night and day. If T series were that inferior GT, why would they still make and put their name to T series? no one carried on making square wheels after round ones came out.

£511 +vat for GT2554R. Garrett do chra rebuilds, a complete core no messing just put it in your old T series ( if you have one ). The t is a dinosaur and gt is old now, gtx  is the new icing on garretts cake lol. Have a read on garrett website all sorts of changes to numbers a GT28R is now in the 25 family and called GT2560R, worth a look and lots of other really useful stuff too ;D

You have to shop around mate.

The 2860RS is a very popular turbo there should be deals on it.

It's popular because it suits alot of engines, is highly reguarding by just about everyone & is made from more expensive materials than most of the other Garretts.

I know it's expensive but if you want the best for your engine then that's the turbo.

I could look at cheaper ones for you but they won't be as good.

Gengis has got two of them on his car!

two!!! :o do ya think he would miss one  ;D haha im going for the best matched turbo for it as reccomended by u guys, theres no point in compromising after spending all this money on the engine,it will at least uleash the full potential of what the engine is capable of.which will be breaking the type 9 box for a start!
