A beefed up T9 is only as strong as a 2.9 spec MT-75.

2.9 MT-75 gearsets are the same as the Cosworth one except Cossie uses shorter input shaft.

you can build a t9 thats even stronger than that, but the cost will be high. thats why i mentioned the t5. you could even look for a toyota supra gearbox.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks for the compliments, that will take a while to complet my car.

For the pats, I'm studiing......da**ed it's hard yes.

For the Mt 75 I was asking for spécial gear ratio used in rally on sierra and escort cosworth.

I already have 2 mt75 gearbox.

I saw Quaife T9 and stronger shaft from Burton, It's very expensive :-[

I just want to merry OE parts firstly, spécial parts will come later.

i was thinking if i had a taunus and i would go your way for fuel effecty and power. what would i do?

i would forget about the 24v bob, sell it and switch to the latest 3.5 duratec v6 because that engine is more economical, is stronger and has more potential and use the latest ms v3 ecu to control it and turbo charge it. (if i had the cash, i would forget the duratec and buy the latest 5.0 v8 with the mt 82 6 speed)

the gearbox would be a t5 z spec, witch has much beter gear ratio's. the rear axle would be a 8.8 inch axle because parts are cheap, its strong so it can handle upgrades with ease, most come with a lsd, you can get every gear ratio you want and the hp loses are less.

and i would do some body mods for beter aerodynamics like closing the under side off the engine bay. this is a mod i gone do with my mustang.

but thats just me thinking.......  ;D ;D ;D

Well at least it will be a cheaper fix than the taunus mate, the spares for them must be getting thin on the ground now!

Cheers Ade

Surely,

2 rear wing, rear bumper, rear floor to un fold, rear glass. Sad

But it's a good occasion to learn car body work. ;D

And if it's worst, an CItroën AX worth no more than a peanut. 500€ for a gt model

Put up some pics mate, that sounds to bad to try a repair on

Run in ......

REGMCI

ok Ade, I will do that later today

it's raining here :(

After the crash, the car goes well (surprisingly) no vibration or odd behaviour, just fold metal.

blimey :o what did you do Regis? reverse it into something at speed?

REGMCI

No,

exess of optimism, too much concentrated on "Perfect downshift", little bit tired, quite cold rear tires. :-[

Front grip perfect, rear grip no at this moment.

In fact I put the car too much on front wheels, so when I turn in there were not so much load on rear tires, I was surprised when the rear lose its grip.

dummy driving error!

PATS is one of the hardest of all the systems out there, a real bugger but we are working on it!

LOL Dave,

As you know I spent a whole weekend with it all "jury rigged" wired up on the bench, and a couple of other fellas spent the same weekend with running cars, snipping and joining etc..........

Conclusion..........It Cannot be by passed, and FDS will only switch it on on a brand new ECU, once enabled it cannot be disabled.

However my personal conclusion was, as long as you have the Key Reader Ring, Key, LED and PATS Module (if it's separate type), then it really isn't difficult to wire it up so it's a fully functioning system, and a good anti theft device to have  ;)
Also if you have the "RED" Ford Key, or 2 "Later" Type keys from your BOB Scorpio, you can then program your new cars key onto the system, once it's wired up and running  ;)
This is what I have done with my Puma Key, as it is the key that fits all locks and has the built in fob for central locking alarm etc ;)

I have the wiring diagram drawn up now to do this.

However, bearing in mind his plans for tuning the engine and the fact that the American Tuners DO NOT work with the European addresses in our ECU's it would be easier for REGMCI to use Emerald or Megasquirt etc as he can then adjust Maps etc as he modifys his engine.

As you know I'm only using EECV because my Puma was originally EECV therefore all the "Car" wiring, fuses relays etc are all there, and the dash Rev Counter, Temp Gauge etc will all then work correctly with its stock wiring  ;)

The car losse rear grip and front had a lot,

The rear try to overtake the front end but not completly, in this time my traject becomes wider and thus the rear end hurt the security rail at 90° (almost) at a speed of nearly 20 km/h

REGMCI

Hi Dave,

I've done exactly the same things with my ax, I keep and wire all OE anti theft device and just supply 12v where it's needed and it's work evenly.

I will do this first on the taunus.

REGMCI,

Re your PM, this is what we use to control the VIS solenoid when using BOA management on a BOB engine, on Sierras:-

MSD RPM Window Switch, part No:- 8969

Link:-  http://www.msdignition.com/Products/RPM/Timing_Controls/RPM_Controls/8969_-_Digital_RPM_Window_Switch.aspx
dead easy to wire up, looks good, simple to calibrate  ;)

A bonus of using EECIV BOA system is that Paul on here has been doing some excellent work with a guy from Tweecer, and I beleive they can now re - map European EECIV's  ;)

I'm hoping that by the time I build the Turbo shortstroke 2,5 litre BOB to go in my Puma they will be able to re map EECV  ;)

BTW, my Puma's not Yellow mate, it'll be Silver when it goes for paint in a few weeks, entire pictorial build thread here:-

http://www.skyewheelnuts.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=896

And a recent BOB Sapphire RWD I installed and wired for a mate:-

http://www.skyewheelnuts.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1271

(BTW he's already blown up the type 9 gearbox he wanted fitted), so now he's admitted I was right and I'm building him a MT75 for it LOLOLOL

REGMCI

Thanks Dave for the links,

Who is Paul?

Yes the good point in the use of EEC-IV is that lot of poeple had worked on it so it's quite easy to tuneat "low" price and with rpm switch VIS is keeped.

What's the meaning of "BTW"?

Ok I misstook your car with an other i saw on the forum. nice clutch ;D

Nice work on the Sierra, reminds me my AX when I made the loom.(less complicated than yours)

I really don't think that's an economic repair mate, pull your good bits off and say goodbye. Or this a bumper on it till your next test. The parts and time don't add up if there are other cars around cheap enough as you said a peanut lol

"Happy to help" or "hope this helps"  ;)

I don't think Paul minds what he's called as long as it's not too insulting  ;D ;D ;D

AX doesnt look too bad to me mate, a few tugs here and there with a dozer and most of that will come out  ;)

Or if they are that cheap, buy a "dead engine" car with a tidy body shell and swap it all over in a weekend  ;)

Thats What I'd Do, if it were mine  ;)

Cheers Dave

Oh that's a shame mate.
Had a couple of R5 Turbo's & them things where well tail happy too!

Depends how much you love that car!

Will repair alright but will be alot of work & time so it's up to you.

Repaired a Saxo right off the other week a insurance company had paid out £1500 on.

Took 5 hours & was little more than a broken headlight, paint & filler. No new panels!

I have had no time to look at it yet mate neither has my mate as he has a back log of paying ECU's to hack first.

My mate reverse engineers ECU's for a living trouble is he does Jap stuff, if it was a EVO, GTR or Scooby he could tell you how to disable it over the phone.
He has the latest Ford IDS & is the best chance for breaking the PATs I know of.

Yeah he told me that if you buy a new unused ECU you switch PATs on at the programming stage.

Paul is a big fan of both the type 9's & V8's as you can probably tell!

A type 9 is weaker than a MT-75 as STD & if you spend the same money on both the MT-75 will always be stronger.

I have many a mail where I have said fit a MT-75, they have fitted a type 9 & a few months later they email me to ask if I have any MT-75's cause the Type 9 has just broke!
You will see it again & again on forums.
It's not always the case as Paul rightly points out but it is common.
Dave

REGMCI

Thanks for all your reply,

I thinks my crash is a good oportunity to learn the coach builder job.

I will do it myself with the help of a friend who is professionnal coachbuilder.

I have just to know where to buy affordable body panel*.

* In france the body parts market is exclusively reserved to car manufacturers so they apply exaggerate prices.

i think that little damage is easy to repair. a good coach worker will not have any trouble whit that.

QuotePaul is a big fan of both the type 9's & V8's as you can probably tell!

the reason why i like the 2.8/2.9 t9 gearbox is for it gear ratio's. it lets you go over 65 miles/hour in second gear. with the mt75, you need to shift to 3e gear to do that. (with normal diff ratio's and tyres sizes) and with that 1 extra shift, you lose against a 2.8/2.9 t9. (same car, diff ratio's, wheels and weight)

yes the mt75 is stronger. to get the same gear ratio's as the 2.8/2.9 t9, you have to spend money because you cant find them in a stock mt 75. those gears arent cheap.

if i have to spend money to strenghten the gearbox and beter gear ratio's, i would buy a t5 z spec and call it a day.

I was aware for the extra shift needed with the Mt75 for reach 60mph, But I quite like starting hard at not , so dependability first.

Do you know what box is fitted in a Sierra XR4X4? Mt75 or t9 ? I don't have the car next to me.

And what's good to salvage for my engine swap in it?

What "z spec" neans?  I know the the WC "World Class" version of T5 is stonger, is there any stronger T5 than the WC?
