Ford focus bonnet release?

Looking at a friends car and can't find the release?  Where have they hidden it?Why have they hidden it, lol?

is it not behind the ford badge on the grill that you flip around and open with the key??

Thats what I thought, was like that on my old Transit :)

yup, its behind the bonnet badge. twist the key anti clockwise to release the bonnet and then
clockwise to release the safety catch
