my idea is to have 12mm an-8 fittings and hose from the tank to the filter and from the filter to the pump, then go with 8mm an-6 for the rest... sound good?

walbro pumps are very good. i dont know about the filter. your plan setup is good.

Done - pump, cradle and filter, connectors, 1m of an8 teflon SS braided hose, 6m of an6 teflon SS braided hose and connectors  thats 317 quid today including the alternator/vac pump  better not let the wife see
