Tank foam

Just been having a chat about this. Of late I have had a bit more trouble than usual getting hold of genuine 4be petrol tanks with the swirl pot thing in, if you get a standard one it cuts out with under a 1/4 of a tank, which with a turbo car isn't great  
I have spoken to my partners father about this and he suggested putting tank (race) foam in it. I've never used this sort of stuff before and wondered what everybodys opinion was..............

Does it have to be a genuine tank?............I`m using a pattern mk4 escort efi tank from Beavers and that had a swirl pot in it.

I can still get them but I'm having to pay over £100 for them when I used to be able to get them for £60....... I'm northern and tight

the tank foam wont sort your problem.

what you could do is use a small low pressure pump and a big fuel filter, let the small low pressure pump , pump the fuel in the big fuel filter, so the filter is always full.

its not the best solution, but its beter than what you have now. you could buy a seperat swirl pot, but i would buy a efi tank.

Thanks for that Paul, I wasn't sure it would solve the problem, but I wanted someone who knows these things to give an opinion  

Rob (super12v) has a swirl pot on his supercharged 4be and has offered some advice for going down that route
