can these be done or does the heat damage the shocks? they are gas shocks btw.

Looks like I'll have to paint the rear shocks with satin black epoxy. How do I remove the front inserts though? is it worth the hassle? should i just paint them too? ...and powdercoat anti-roll bars, crossmember, axle and leaf springs?
