Great news...

I just spent 15 minuets clearing spam from the old site as it went offline

Well, nobody can get on the old site anymore.
I changed the forum main page, so all everyone gets is a 404 error.

But, nobody should have been able to get on the old server,because it redirects to the new site.
Some very clever hackers @ work i suppose...

That`s one of the reasons i upgraded the forum software,the old version was very easy to hack..

i also have to say that i dont get any notifications anymore, if someone replyed on messages.

other than that, all seems to work again.

Oops, that was a security option in the admin panel.
Now the cookie sent is not encrypted so strong anymore, so it should work now.

I also found the real reason why some of you couldn`t get in..
Several search engine spiders were indexing the whole site, keeping the database very busy...
Now they only can index the open forums, not the protected ones..

This will save a few million connections to the database (a day...)

But overall, i think it`s working a lot faster now  

p.s. i have a little surprise addon for our Dutch members in a few days...

Great stuff, starting to tell the difference now.
Getting a real slick looking forum.  

A good header picture needed now & someone to decide on the colour scheme as it seems to change everytime I log on

Its your screen size that's the problem, give some thought for lesser mortals with normal size screens or go to spec saves so ya don't need such a big one
