sierra wide arches

thought about this for a while now and finally got the grinder out,these are some escort forest arches which I cut down,going to get some bigger wheels next year so hence why they sit a bit more out than they should   but they worked a treat i lowered the car on the coil overs and it handle better than expected round brands the other day

looking good, surprisingly. Will look bitchin once you've filled them up a little.

It's one of the few things on sierra's thats naff, even wide wheels  don't fill the arches.

those wheels are 8 1/2 inch 17's with 235 45 tyres on i reckon i need 9 inch with slighlty more offset

why not adapt a thunder saloon kit

was thinking of the thunder kit but those escort arches only cost a fraction of the thunder kit,plus i have used some roadsweeper seals to take up the slack between wings and arches,and those where free!I really hate spending too much time in bodywork,just bosh it on and job done.
do the thunder kit rear arches allow you to lower the car,i have removed quite alot of inner wing so i still have loads of room to drop the car further if i wanted

take the outer part of the inner wing out and you go as low as ya want

i cut slots in the rear outer and inner and bent them all up so i have loads of room under those arches,just need to tidy it all up as the mot guys may not like it

Don't call them wide arches, look more like girlie ones to me        

If they do the job m8 thats all that matters

think i could of made them fit alot better,but it's the first time i've fitted any and probably i'm the only person to fit them,i am going to redo the nearside as i did that in the dark in a hurry trying to get it done for brands hatch the next day.
rang my mot place up and explained that i had " cut the arches off",they said "it would be fine" than i said "no listen, i have cut the arches right off , the rear outer skin is no longer attached to the inner wing"..................."oh"he said....."well if you cover it in gaffa tape then i cant see it can i"........"goodman!" i replied.expanding foam and gaffa tape here i come

Sorry mate thats not for me at all. i assume you 'need' the width for traction? you painting the bonnet up to match not leaving it black?

Expanding foam is the future. bloody messy stuff like isn't it!

believe it or not the wheels in the pic are magnesium 17x8 1/2 inch wide with 235 45's on,i'm looking to get some 9 or 10 inch wide with more offset and slicks on for track.just need to do something with the rear beam to get rid of some camber,may make up a an adjustable rear beam at some point as i need to get the rear lower to get some weight back on it...........or a couple of bags of sand
