Yeah was good the few hours I spent there, sorry for not hanging around to put names to faces. Had a quick word with Simon and that was about it. Just about limped the car home in the end    Been one of those weekends with no-stop gremlins.

It was a fantastic day. My car got there - wasn't too happy about taking it at breakneck speed on the track because until then it hadn't turned a wheel other than in and out of the workshop and on / off the trailer.

First session for me was to make sure it actually drove without any odd smells, noises, nothing falling off etc. Brake discs although new were rusty as fook where it had been standing so I had the combined factor of rusty discs grabbing and causing steering shake plus not actually having any real friction as they were not bedded in. At that time the whale tail wasn't fitted so the arse end was a bit light (yes Taps even WITH me in the car!!) After a few laps the brakes started to scrub off speed but still with terrible vibration through the steering wheel.

During the day we fitted the whale tail, drove up and down the car park dabbing the brakes trying to bed them in and de-rust the discs. Also checked the rear coil overs - one (passenger side) was set to 0 and the other 50% (I set them both at around 60% at some point so the Gremlins have been fiddling) plus I hadn't fine-checked the ride height and the drivers side was about 3/4" higher at the back.

All set up (apart from tyre pressures - forgot to drop them for the track) and the car perfomed much better in the second session thwarted only like Mads pointed out by some complete donut in an Escort that decided to go "phut" coming out of Bridge and suffer an oil induced thermal incident. Our track time was halved - like Mads I too wanted to twat the bloke but he was probably feeling bad enough as it was at the prospect of walking home!!!

Can't wait for the next session on the track. Got a list of little snags to sort out on the car - all in all not a bad result for it's first appearance.

Big thanks to Taps for organising the day - shame our stand was only half the size it needed to be.

Will be once I'm back from holiday - no point taxing it and wasting best part of 3 weeks tax.

Those that have seen our mate Fluff's engine bay will know that it's pretty multi coloured and lairy to say the least... my wife thought it looked like a gay pride flag! Guess what she found on one of the trade stands when she went for a wander at lunch time???? LMAO best £6 she ever spent she recons to get that photo... here's Beef24v and myself after we decorated Dan's bonnet stay!

kostey

Thanks for great day!!!!!!!!!
Today at 8:00AM I came home, second sierra came home to Prague 5min ago and third czech sierra still need a few hours to get home. We count that our 3 sierras spend together in last 4 days nearly 900 litres of petrol :D
The trip was unlucky for the silver sierra, because she had tire defect, after Ford Fair somewhere on the motorway was she hit by stone on the windscreen and the wind screen need to be replace.
I am sure police will have a few our pictures from speed cameras

It was expensive weekend, but next year we will go again!
I am little sad that I didnt spoke more with other people from fordpower.
But anyway thanks again for great day!

scratt

thanks taps for the organisation & to meet everyone again, bit miffed about the track session being cut short aswell, but these things happen,it was a great day,a little warmer would have been nice but we were possibly spoilt by that last year! car went well so thats all that mattered! great day on & off the track!

Transit RS

i popped over to the stand but no one was about
recognised a few cars around - saw MOB doing the sprint

Kostey glad you all got home safely, come back next year mate was really good to see you lads on the stand

on saturday we slept somewhere in the newport pangel willage. There was quiet carpark and big greenfield. Although I know that in GB is drinking on public places prohibited, we was drinking there. A few hours hour later police came there, they have seen a lot of cans with beer, bottle of whiskey and some stuff like that. And all of us was already drunk.
But they just ask us what we are doing there, they said that many young guys going there just burn the tires. So I told them: "Dont worry, we dont want burn our tires, we are trying keep our cars in good condition and next day we are going to Ford Fair and before we leave we will clean the area and we will put all cans, bottles and used grills to the bins and we will try to be quiet there. So police officers look around again and then they just said Ok everything is fine and than they drive away.
At the morning we slept in. We woke up at 6:45 It was the reason why we was late on the newport pangel services.

soon I will put some movies to youtube.

Owain
