I thought it might be good for cleaning up me rusty front springs. waste of £8 and an hour of my precious time - completely useless stuff.

should of asked first mate..... so is "converts to a safe matterial" bullshit, media blast them and repowder coat them, or just wire brush them and brush paint them. .... hehe... £8? ....

All hammerite stuff is useless, premium price for watered down shite. Ever tried their stone chip, its more like whitewash.

no this is a gel thats just meant to disolve the rust off leaving it clean - I thought it would be good as its not easy to wirebrush springs...but thats what i ended up doing - with the grinder and a wirebrush wheel. did it ok -ish and ive primered them up with zinc primer. Not a 100% pukka job but the springs are old and will be swapped in due course anyway. this crap was meant to make it quicker but in truth, there are no shortcuts
