What psi should the wastegate open for a single turbo 2.8 aiming at 1 bar (12psi) boost? Ive found a 38mm wastegate which I'm told is the right size but i can get it with springs for 4, 6, 8 and 12 psi - what should i go for to alow 12 psi boost on the compressor side? I was guessing 6 maybe? rather play safe i spose and swapping it up isn't that hard if its too soft right?

A 12 psi spring gives 12 psi. I you want to run less boost but be able to turn it up then go for a lowwer rates one and run a boost controller. Boost controllers bleed the air off from the wastegate and allow it to give a higher boost level.
