Fancy I4 pullys

I came across these on ebay    (saturday at work is always boring  )

They look nice BUT AFAIK making stuff lighter doesn't increase BHP

hello Marty.

increasing the diameter off the pully's could give you some extra hp. but that also give you a slower rotation off the pully's. so less cooling and the dynamo work's give's less power.  

making the pully's lighter could be making 1 or 2 hp, but thats something you need to test on a dyno, to see a result.

These pulleys.... a carbon fibre prop, racing flywheel, alloy hubs, no engine fan or alternator...then  you might see a difference lol

Make a prop out of bog-roll tubes

Call it 'cardboard-fibre'

I think that on the I4 the crankshaft pully is also the vibration damper, so fitting a lighter one "could" affect the smooth running of the engine. Ray
