Thirsty. They love fuel. And be ready to spend ££££'s around 60K miles with them as the rotor tips wear out, meaning an engine rebuild. Apart from that they're pretty much like any other car.

They also consume oil at a ridiculous rate... and they aren't classed as a 1300cc - for tax purposes they are a 2600cc

My friends log book for his RX-7 says it's a 1.3 and he pays the lower band tax rate.

It's a fantastic car in it's own kind of way - remmaped to 330nhp - goes like stink.  

Not for me though - rattles and bumps about a  bit to much for my liking.  If I have a car with a roof it needs to be like my Scorpio Cossie - big, powerful, smooth, comfy and quiet.  If I want something with rattles and bone jarring ride, I'll stick with my Westfield.  Funnily enough, both are cheaper (to run and build) than the RX-7!

They are around if you look - £4500 - £6500 will get you one with a CVH, xflow, Pinto - £6500 - £10000 should get you a zetec/vaucx XE engined car.  £10k plus should be top spec xe and duratecs.  £15k should be v8/cossie territory ;-)  not sure what Bike engine cars go for.
