I know I keep threatening to get it, but I'm a cheapskate when it comes to things like this, and sky+ and tv licence seems one outgoing too many!!

Ashes to Ashes was absolutely great - I recognised the Cortina Mk 5 and the 2.8i Granada police cars - they are members of Police Car UK - bloody sure of it.

Marty

Bloody brilliant
Great music, getting 80's flashbacks now

The Quattro was outstanding!!!!!!!!

'Lets fire up the Quattro'  (background music by the Clash  )

I stayed in to watch it in the end, excellent it was as well
Makes me think I should have watched Life on Mars now

IansSaph

finally blagged the Mrs into watching Ashes to Ashes last night and she loved it,
they repeated the first one afterwards on one of the other random BBC channels my licence fee funds.
So we had to watch the 2nd then the first but wasn't to hard to follow,

We gave up watching 'life on Mars' cause the Mrs kept asking plot related questions that answering took the enjoyment out of watching... Bless her,

Got to say the Quattro is nice like but i'd of hoped for a different lead car, i couldn't deciede what from 1981 tho

One of the last RS2000's would have been nice, but that would have made it a bit too 'Professional-ish'

Capri, too common in police car chases in the early 80's

Real pity it wasn't set a couple of years later, a nice 4i would have been cooooool

IansSaph

exactly, 1986 a three door cossy, 81 was a poor year, but your right they have done well to keep it away from the Professionals,

My brother had a 1.8 TC Marina  (lime green with black vynal roof) we took the engine out to replace it, it seemed to weigh seriously heavy!!!!!! like heavier than a V6 Cologne

One of the myths used to say that the Ally Rover V8 weighs the same as a 1.8 BMC "B" series engine ?

I have never weighed them so i dont know

Thats just an myth

Rover V8 is 318lbs
2.8 V6 Cologne is 305lbs and there no way a 1.6 Pinto weighs more than a 2.8 v6
