BOA chain tensioner gasket

Hello all,

I would like to change gasket under the chain tensioner. I couldn´t find any info about locking timing or anything like that.

So I just remove the powersteering pump, alternator, alternator assembly and just unlock the tensioner with alen key remove the tensioner assembly, clean the surface, put new gasket, bolt in the tensioner, lock it again, return everything back and job is done.

Is it correct or is there other way? Don´t really want to ruin anything it´s kinda hard to find parts for this car.

It´s 1991 Ford Scorpio Cosworth(preface) BOA with 184 000 km.

Also if you could recommend what parts should I replace in the engine with this mileage it would be great.
Since now I replace all the fluids, filters and spark plugs, some hoses.

Remove the blanking plug from the chain
tensioner using a 4,5 mm Allen key.

NOTE: Use the TORX T30 angled socket to rotate the inner of the tensioner.

Immobilise the chain tensioner by rotating it
clockwise.

Tighten the timing chains.

NOTE: Use the TORX T30 angled socket.

Twist the chain tensioner anti-clockwise to
release it.

Screw the blanking plug (4,5 mm Allen key)
into the chain tensioner.

With 184 000 km i would inspect the crank and rod bearings, oil pump and the timing gears, guides and chain as these parts are known issues with high milage BOA and BOB.
