Hi Guys,

I've been off the forum and fords for a few years...... Got my self a BMW nowadays, only becuase Ford does not got a RWD for me.... Still got my old MK II granny and one 2.9 24v, one 4.0 24v and one 4.1 24v, but I have not run neither of them in a few years, but I still keep on to them.

What happen with Daves 2.9 24v TT with VNT, is it started or is he still working on it or does the Minker get all the attention?

I need to pop in here more ofthen.......

Hi, Tobbe. Happy to read you again.
I'm just about starting my own 4.0 24V. I have read the original thread and found the 4.0 engine.
I would like to ask you some details about your engine if you don't care.

Vallol

Hey, Tobbe! Good to see some of the old farts still visiting this page. I also started coming here after a while.

InFlammen

I have started to stripping down the 4.0 engine and have seen the valley between the two heads and over the camshaft.
I have read that Tobbe and some other 4.0 24V builders have ocluded the holes for the pushrods (C) and the ones over the camshaft (B) with different systems (alu plugs, epoxy, etc).
I already have not decided what to do with this point. Perhaps someone could help.

What is the function of the steel balls (A). I have read that those are oil galleries... are for oil supplying for the pushrods? Someone had only closed these galleries and then put a cover with a gasket over the valley. Would it be enough, unless the B and C holes are not ocluded?

Hi Tobbe

Test engines have been built & run but really not had the time to build up the finished thing.

The final block spec is 95mm bore & a STD crank.

Bottom cap brace finished, line bored etc.

Another BOB block has been prepared as I have ditched the piston squirters.

Teflon coated bearings, ARP studs, ringed block etc.

Bottom end is ready to assemble actually.

Heads are brand new BOBs fully ported & bigger valves fitted.

Intake is a ported STD BOB one.

Still using the GT28VNT's but with now bigger compressors for over 800 bhp.

It should make 600bhp on 1 bar & 800bhp on 1.5 bar with normal 95 octane fuel.
